BTEC Performing Arts

Course Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 4 and above

Exam board: EDEXCEL

 

General course description:

(equivalent to an A Level) is for learners who are interested in learning about the performing arts sector alongside other fields of study. It is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels. Both dance and acting students will work collaboratively to complete four assessed units of work where they will research professional works by leading industry practitioners, work on developing their performance skills and stage group performance pieces for an audience. They will develop physical techniques as well as wider transferable skills, such as being able to work collaboratively, personal management and organisation (rehearsals, time-management), being able to give and take direction, confidence in front of an audience, problem solving (refining the process) and teamwork (essential when performing as a group).
